PEACEFUL DOVE:
Geopelia striata
A small, rounded
dove with delicate barring and a purplish tinge. Also identified by the blue
ring around the eye. Call is a distinctive and
familiar "oodle-ooo" and a low "grrr.." Found in the east, but most
common in the tropics. Found in woodlands, and is well found in tropical
cities and towns. Also found in south-east Asia.
